The Community Relations Council has been asked to extend the Strategic Support Fund for a further year (2012-2013) in order to allow the newly emerging Victims Service the opportunity to establish with a view to transferring funding responsibility fully to the Service during this year.

The Commission for Victims and Survivors has welcomed the announcement by the First Minister and acting deputy First Minister of an enquiry process for victims of institutional abuse, saying that there is a similar need for a strategic approach to the matter of truth, justice and acknowledgement for victims of the Troubles.
