Detective Chief Superintendent, Bobby Singleton, answers questions on suspension of Legacy Investigations

Responding to concerns expressed by victims and survivors about the Chief Constable’s statement that he is temporarily suspending all legacy investigations the Commissioner has said:

“We are all acutely aware that Police Officers are, along with health professionals and other front line services, at the forefront of responding to the threat that COVID-19 presents. Whilst no one is struggling with the idea that a temporary redeployment of staff is necessary in responding to this very serious public crisis, we still have to be sensitive to the impact of this announcement on the people most affected

The Commissioner has discussed victims and survivors’ concerns with the Chief Constable and has been assured that as soon as is possible, the work of the PSNI Legacy Investigations Branch will be recommenced.

Detective Chief Superintendent, Bobby Singleton has answered a series of questions being posed to the Commission by individuals.
