Ballymurphy Inquest

Yesterday, Justice Keegan found 10 people who lost their lives in the Ballymurphy area of west Belfast in 1971 to be “entirely innocent”.

The families of the deceased have waited 50 years for this public acknowledgement and have endured a long and difficult road to achieve it.

This continues to be the case for so many families who seek full and proper inquests, investigations and truth recovery on behalf of their loved ones and is why appropriate legacy mechanisms must be put in place for all families.
