Commission for Victims and Survivors staff met with a US delegation of mental health academics and practitioners as part of their visit organised by the Center for International Experiential Learning.

During the session, the delegation was provided with an overview of the work of the Commission as well as issues relating to the health and well-being impacts of conflict legacy on victims and survivors and the treatment and support services in place to aid their recovery.  David Bolton provided the delegation an overview of key findings, including research-informed commentary in approaches to Troubles-related trauma contained in David’s recently updated publication Conflict, Peace and Mental Health – A case study from Northern Ireland on addressing trauma and loss.
