Commission publishes updated Standards of Services documents
The Commission for Victims and Survivors (CVS) have today published the updated Standards of Services document on our website. The document is also accompanied by a complementary Clinical Governance Standards document. There have been several significant service-related developments impacting the health and wellbeing of victims and survivors of the Troubles/conflict in recent years. These include the establishment of the Regional Trauma Network (RTN) in 2022 and the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme (TPDPS) in 2021. Additionally, with the enactment of the NI Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Act in 2023 and the current UK Government led process to repeal and replace key parts of the legislation, it has been timely and important to review and update standards information in several service-related areas.
CVS would like to express gratitude to sectoral colleagues who provided their informed feedback that was considered and where appropriate integrated into the updated documents. We would like to extend sincere thanks to those representatives from a number of victims organisations and the Victims and Survivors Service (VSS) who worked together in finalising these key reference documents.
It is anticipated that the Standards document will continue to draw on the learning experience and practice of continued service delivery to victim and survivors in the years ahead with another formal review scheduled in 2028.
