Commissioner for Victims and Survivors meets Health Minister to discuss funding and support services
Commissioner for Victims and Survivors Joe McVey and Commission staff recently met with Health Minister Mike Nesbitt to discuss the importance of ensuring long-term funding and support services remain in place for victims and survivors across Northern Ireland.
The meeting focused on the ongoing mental health and wellbeing needs of those impacted by The Troubles/conflict, the importance of accessible trauma-informed care, and the funding pressures facing organisations delivering essential support services within communities.
The Commission’s research continues to highlight the lasting and intergenerational impact of trauma linked to The Troubles/conflict and the need for sustained support for victims and survivors.
